Victory Venkatesh- Varun Teja’s multi-starrer F2 is carrying decent buzz among the trade circles. Touted as a fun entertainer, the film has hit the screens today. Let’s check whether it offers the promised fun or not.
Venky ( Venkatesh ) a PA to local MLA, gets married to a girl called Harika(Tamannah), who hails from a lady dominated family. On the other hand, Harika’s sister Honey(Mehreen) loves a Hyderbadi youth Varun Yadav(Varun Tej) and gets family approval for marriage. This is the time when both Venky and Varun get frustrated due to there ladies domination and leave to Europe on a trip. What will the men do there? How will they handle the over smart Harika and Honey? Finally, Will both the couple realize the importance of marriage? To know this, you have to catch the film in the theaters near you.
Victory Venkatesh is the main pillar of the film as he carries it with his vintage comedy timing. He is the show stealer and completely did justice to the tailor-made role. Varun Tej is decent in his role as a Hyderabadi guy and envokes good laughs along with Venky. All the combination scenes with Venky and Varun provide health entertainment.
Tamannah and Mehreen are apt in their roles as sisters with an attitude problem. Senior actress Y. Vijaya and Annapurna are good in their granny roles and evokes laughs with their satirical dialogues. A few episodes between Venky and his family during the first half will provide hilarious fun.
Like many films, this film also sufferers with the second half Syndrome as the proceedings during the course of time will be on the regular template. The narration also lacks entertainment and things become predictable in the second half.
Though Tamannah and Mehreen are apt as head-weight ladies, their acting goes overboard sometimes. Rajendra Prasad and Prakash Raj are not used properly as their roles are not written effectively. Lack of gripping storyline is also a minus point for the film.
Anil Ravipudi, who is known for delivering successful films by writing an entertaining screenplay has once again come up with the same formula. Though his story has nothing new to offer, he succeeded to an extent in writing a few hilarious episodes in the first half. Editing work is okay and the film’s runtime is within the limits. The cinematography is good as mostly for the film looks colorful with rich frames. DSP has failed yet again as none of his songs are helpful for the film. Production values by SVC banner are good.
Overall, F2 has a routine storyline and offers limited fun to the audience. Though Venky character and a few scenes in the first half are designed hilariously, the narration falls flat in the latter half with predictable proceedings. In one word, the film offers decent for this festival weekend.
Knowing this Tamannah and Mehreen too fly to Europe and Prakash Raj’s house.
